Every action counts in the fight for abortion access. Today in ❤️ Reproductive Freedom for All we’re featuring January 28, 2025 news and critical calls-to-action.
Americans are increasingly anxious and fearful. Abortion is not only a critical healthcare service but also one that enjoys broad public support. It’s time to listen, take action, and protect the rights and health of millions.
Across the nation, health centers remain unwavering in their commitment to providing essential sexual and reproductive healthcare. From birth control and cancer screenings to STI testing and, where permitted, abortion services, these centers serve as a lifeline for countless individuals seeking care and support.
Yet, for 28 million women of reproductive age, the landscape has grown increasingly dire. With sweeping abortion bans taking hold across multiple states, access to this critical care is being stripped away. These bans are more than laws; they are barriers that endanger lives and strip away autonomy. These bans are not just policies—they are costing lives. We know the names, faces, and stories of those already harmed, and heartbreakingly, they are just the beginning. Every day these restrictions remain in place, more lives are impacted, and more people endure unnecessary suffering.
Americans don’t want politicians interfering in personal health care choices.
MAGA Republicans are relentlessly attacking reproductive freedom, undermining the rights and autonomy of millions of Americans. Their harmful agenda puts personal medical decisions in the hands of politicians, stripping away essential healthcare and endangering lives. We must stand united to protect reproductive justice and preserve the rights of all people to control their own bodies.

One of 2025’s biggest battles over abortion rights has already begun
Boston Globe By Reid Epstein
Tens of millions of dollars flooding into a state election. A nakedly political candidate for a judgeship. Huge policy stakes for a key battleground state. Two years ago, a race for the Wisconsin Supreme Court vividly demonstrated how local elections that once flew under the radar were becoming expensive, nationalized, and highly partisan affairs.
Abortion rights rally urges WA lawmakers to push back on Trump agenda
Seattle Times By Sofia Schwarzwalder, Elise Takahama
“Who’s glad they live in Washington state?” The question, asked by retired physician Kjersten Gmeiner, was answered with cheers and applause from a multigenerational crowd of reproductive health care advocates. Standing below a crowd of 50 people on the Capitol steps to rally in support of reproductive and gender-affirming health care, Gmeiner encouraged attendees to lobby state lawmakers to ensure Washington remains a sanctuary state for abortion.
March for Life 2025: Thousands expected at D.C. rally for anti-abortion rights
Washington Post By Emma Uber, Dana Munro, Kyle Swenson
Thousands of antiabortion demonstrators are expected to march to the U.S. Capitol in the 52nd annual March for Life on Friday, a symbolic endpoint for a movement working to stake out the front line in an intensifying fight over abortion access. Rally organizers estimated a crowd of up to 150,000 will turn out and send a message to President Trump — a complicated figure for the antiabortion movement who delivered the conservative U.S. Supreme Court that overturned Roe v. Wade. (Sidenote: only 50,000 showed up for the People’s March).1
Government webpages vanish under Trump, from DEI to reproductive rights
NBC News By Kevin Collier
In the first few days of Donald Trump’s second presidency, his administration has already overhauled the federal government’s online footprint. The White House website no longer has a Spanish-language version. It has removed a disclaimer promising to make it accessible to people with disabilities. And a number of federal agencies have removed web pages related to reproductive rights and diversity.
52 Years After Roe, Reproductive Rights Group Launches Abortion Justice Playbook
Common Dreams By Julia Conley
Wednesday marked 52 years since the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed in the Roe v. Wade decision that Americans have the right to obtain abortion care, but as the reproductive justice group All* Above All said as it released its Abortion Justice Playbook, marginalized communities across the U.S. faced barriers to necessary healthcare "even before the fall" of Roe in 2022.

Taking Action for Reproductive Freedom: Why It Matters and What You Can Do
Reproductive freedom is more than a political issue—it’s a fundamental human right that impacts health, equality, and the ability to make decisions about one’s own body. Yet, across the globe and even in many parts of the United States, reproductive rights are under attack. From restrictive laws to misinformation campaigns, the fight for reproductive freedom demands our collective attention and action. Now is the time to rise in defense of these rights, ensuring that everyone has access to safe, legal, and affordable reproductive healthcare. What is the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) ?
The Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA) has been introduced into Congress and will protect a woman's health, ability to make her own decisions, and constitutional rights.
Despite its popularity among most Americans, the Women's Health Protection Act passed in 2021 in the House of Representatives under Democratic Nancy Pelosi's leadership but failed to advance in the Senate due to a Republican blockade.
