These bans are more than laws; they are barriers that endanger lives and strip away autonomy. These bans are not just policies—they are costing lives. We know the names, faces, and stories of those already harmed, and heartbreakingly, they are just the beginning. Every day these restrictions remain in place, more lives are impacted, and more people endure unnecessary suffering.

Standing below a crowd of 50 people on the Capitol steps to rally in support of reproductive and gender-affirming health care, Gmeiner encouraged attendees to lobby state lawmakers to ensure Washington remains a sanctuary state for abortion.

Thousands of antiabortion demonstrators are expected to march to the U.S. Capitol in the 52nd annual March for Life on Friday, a symbolic endpoint for a movement working to stake out the front line in an intensifying fight over abortion access. Cecile Richards, Reproductive Rights Champion Who Led Planned Parenthood, Dies at 67

Cecile Richards, the former president of Planned Parenthood and longtime champion of women's rights and other progressive causes, died on Monday at the age of 67. The cause was an aggressive brain cancer that had been diagnosed in 2023. Richards' husband and three children confirmed her death in a statement posted on social media. Richards, the daughter of former Democratic Texas Gov. Ann Richards, had an early introduction to progressive politics.

What is the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) ?
The Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA) has been introduced into Congress and will protect a woman's health, ability to make her own decisions, and constitutional rights.
Despite its popularity among most Americans, the Women's Health Protection Act passed in 2021 in the House of Representatives under Democratic Nancy Pelosi's leadership but failed to advance in the Senate due to a Republican blockade.
