Every action counts in the fight for abortion access. Today in ❤️ Reproductive Freedom for All we’re featuring December 31, 2024 news and critical calls-to-action.
Americans are increasingly anxious and fearful. Abortion is not only a critical healthcare service but also one that enjoys broad public support. It’s time to listen, take action, and protect the rights and health of millions.
Across the nation, health centers remain unwavering in their commitment to providing essential sexual and reproductive healthcare. From birth control and cancer screenings to STI testing and, where permitted, abortion services, these centers serve as a lifeline for countless individuals seeking care and support.
Yet, for 28 million women of reproductive age, the landscape has grown increasingly dire. With sweeping abortion bans taking hold across multiple states, access to this critical care is being stripped away. These bans are more than laws; they are barriers that endanger lives and strip away autonomy. These bans are not just policies—they are costing lives. We know the names, faces, and stories of those already harmed, and heartbreakingly, they are just the beginning. Every day these restrictions remain in place, more lives are impacted, and more people endure unnecessary suffering.
Americans don’t want politicians interfering in personal health care choices.
MAGA Republicans are relentlessly attacking reproductive freedom, undermining the rights and autonomy of millions of Americans. Their harmful agenda puts personal medical decisions in the hands of politicians, stripping away essential healthcare and endangering lives. We must stand united to protect reproductive justice and preserve the rights of all people to control their own bodies.

Abortion has become slightly more common despite bans or deep restrictions in most Republican-controlled states, and the legal and political fights over its future are not over yet. It’s now been two and a half years since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and opened the door for states to implement bans. The policies and their impact have been in flux ever since the ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

Why speech could be a target for the anti-abortion movement in 2025
The Guardian By Carter Sherman
The next front in the US abortion wars may be what people are allowed to say about it. More than two years after the US supreme court overturned Roe v Wade in the case Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization, US abortions are on the rise, thanks in large part to the spread of abortion pills and travel across state lines.
Abortion Care Faces an Uncertain Future in Washington, D.C.
The Prospect By Lydie Lake
After Southern states began implementing abortion bans in the wake of the Dobbs decision, Washington, D.C., became a hub for abortion care. The city has five abortion providers, but more significantly, the nation’s capital is home to one of the only five remaining abortion clinics that offer care in the later stages of pregnancy.

What is the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) ?
The Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA) has been introduced into Congress and will protect a woman's health, ability to make her own decisions, and constitutional rights.
Despite its popularity among most Americans, the Women's Health Protection Act passed in 2021 in the House of Representatives under Democratic Nancy Pelosi's leadership but failed to advance in the Senate due to a Republican blockade.
