Every action counts in the fight for abortion access. Today in ❤️ Reproductive Freedom for All we’re featuring December 14, 2024 news and critical calls-to-action.
Americans are increasingly anxious and fearful. Abortion is not only a critical healthcare service but also one that enjoys broad public support. It’s time to listen, take action, and protect the rights and health of millions.
Across the nation, health centers remain unwavering in their commitment to providing essential sexual and reproductive healthcare. From birth control and cancer screenings to STI testing and, where permitted, abortion services, these centers serve as a lifeline for countless individuals seeking care and support.
Yet, for 28 million women of reproductive age, the landscape has grown increasingly dire. With sweeping abortion bans taking hold across multiple states, access to this critical care is being stripped away. These bans are more than laws; they are barriers that endanger lives and strip away autonomy. These bans are not just policies—they are costing lives. We know the names, faces, and stories of those already harmed, and heartbreakingly, they are just the beginning. Every day these restrictions remain in place, more lives are impacted, and more people endure unnecessary suffering.
Americans don’t want politicians interfering in personal health care choices.
MAGA Republicans are relentlessly attacking reproductive freedom, undermining the rights and autonomy of millions of Americans. Their harmful agenda puts personal medical decisions in the hands of politicians, stripping away essential healthcare and endangering lives. We must stand united to protect reproductive justice and preserve the rights of all people to control their own bodies.

Texas’ lawsuit against a N.Y. doctor signals a new front in the fight over abortion access
MSNBC By Clarissa-Jan Lim
The Texas attorney general is taking his anti-abortion crusade beyond the borders of the Lone Star State. In what may be the first lawsuit of its kind, Texas AG Ken Paxton’s office is suing a New York physician for prescribing abortion pills to a Texas resident through telemedicine. Filed Thursday, the lawsuit argues that the New York doctor, Margaret Daley Carpenter, prescribed mifepristone and misoprostol to a 20-year-old Texan woman via telemedicine in May in violation of Texas state law.

Child care gets little help in Idaho. A family-run center is buckling.
Washington Post By Karin Brulliard
Others have drawn similar conclusions, with a recent study finding that Idaho, which has one of the nation's most restrictive abortion laws, offers the fewest social services for women and children of any state with an abortion ban.
President Biden Should Certify the Equal Rights Amendment
The Progressive
As the nation braces for Donald Trump’s second presidential term, advocates across the land are asking President Joe Biden to shield us from the looming threats to women’s safety and reproductive rights. … Rightwing extremists have clearly expressed their intentions to further decimate reproductive rights and health care. Since Roe v. Wade was overturned, thirteen states have enacted total abortion bans, with five more banning abortion starting at between six and twelve weeks.
What is the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) ?
The Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA) has been introduced into Congress and will protect a woman's health, ability to make her own decisions, and constitutional rights.
Despite its popularity among most Americans, the Women's Health Protection Act passed in 2021 in the House of Representatives under Democratic Nancy Pelosi's leadership but failed to advance in the Senate due to a Republican blockade.

Taking Action for Reproductive Freedom: Why It Matters and What You Can Do
Reproductive freedom is more than a political issue—it’s a fundamental human right that impacts health, equality, and the ability to make decisions about one’s own body. Yet, across the globe and even in many parts of the United States, reproductive rights are under attack. From restrictive laws to misinformation campaigns, the fight for reproductive freedom demands our collective attention and action. Now is the time to rise in defense of these rights, ensuring that everyone has access to safe, legal, and affordable reproductive healthcare. The question is not whether we can make a difference, but how.
